CDF opens new ADCU head office

“You are an organisation that understands the Australian Defence Force,” said General Peter Cosgrove during his address in opening the new ADCU head office premises at 1 York Street, Sydney recently.

The Australian Defence Credit Union has moved to a much more convenient location close to one of Sydney’s main transport hubs.

“It has been designed to meet our strategic and operational needs for at least ten years plus ... to provide financial support to members of the Australian Defence Credit Union,” said ADCU Chairman John Wood during his address.

The new premises features a call centre designed to provide a high level of personal service for ADCU members who need to contact the credit union from remote areas.

ADCU also has a network of 50 branches on military bases throughout Australia. GEN Cosgrove said, “It’s axiomatic that in the ADF we look after men and women and their families.

Across our wider organisation, what you might call the Defence community, there are many organisations, which in their own way support Defence and its people. Australian Defence Credit Union is one such organisation.”
