Members of LONSDALE class in HMAS CERBERUS have adopted a dolphin, appropriately named Lonsdale.

The Initial Training Faculty was visited by a research Project Officer with the Victorian branch of the Dolphin Research Institute, Anika Goldsworthy, who presented the sponsorship certificate.

Ms Goldsworthy also gave a brief presentation on the work of the institute in collating vital information on dolphin numbers and behaviour in Port Phillip and Westernport Bays.

The work is aimed at not only better understanding, but also preserving these magnificent creatures.

Among those to listen to the presentation were members of GE 172, LONSDALE Class, pictured above with Ms Goldsworthy.

The institute as keen to pursue an association with CERBERUS and the Navy.
