A team of RAN divers and PT instructors have put the Doggies, 20 members of the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs Rugby League side, through their paces.

The fitness work out took place in and around Balmoral Beach on January 11.

A series of drills, normal procedures for the super fit divers from HMA Ships Penguin and Waterhen and the Penguin PTIs, saw the footballers tested.

Some of the RAN personnel came back from leave to help out.

Supervising the training were six divers and two PTIs. The training session was organised by RAN Rugby League executive LCDR Sion Griffiths. A similar training session was organised in 2004.

The media attended this year’s three-hour work out.

A barbecue followed.

The Doggies are gearing up to defend the National Rugby League title they won in 2004.
