LCDR Steve Thompson has handed command of HMAS Wollongong to LCDR Iain Jarvie at a ceremony at Darwin Naval Base.

After a successful command encompassing numerous patrols and boardings, a visit to Wollongong, a deployment to Operation Anode and culminating in winning the Kelly Shield and NQEA Engineering Sword of Excellence, LCDR
Thompson handed over Wollongong’s Battle Ensign to LCDR Jarvie last month.

LCDR Thompson is headed to a posting at Maritime Headquarters.
