The RANs patrol boat fleet got off to a busy start this
year.
On January 27, six of the fleet put to sea from Darwin for an
intense four-day training exercise.
They were HMA Ships Bunbury, Ipswich, Bendigo, Warrnambool, Townsville
and Launceston.
The patrol boats headed for Beagle Gulf with exercises over over
the next four days aimed at improving individual, team, and ship
skills and efficiency.
There were live firings at towed air and sea targets.
The exercise was headed by CMDR Mark Burling, the commander for
minor war vessels.
