New South Wales Naval cadets experienced life at sea recently when they sailed in HMAS Success.

17 cadets from TS Hawkesbury (Gosford), TS Sirius (Kyeemagh) and TS Shoalhaven (NAS Nowra), along with 3 staff, sailed in HMAS Success as she headed out into the Eastern Australian Exercise Area (EAXA) for a midnight rendezvous with our latest warship, HMAS Stuart.

The cadets were able to enjoy real life experiences onboard the eastern-based ship, including a mid - morning replenishment at sea (RAS) with Stuart.

Later they were sent to their ‘leaving ship stations’, boarding a Navy Sea King helicopter for an unforgettable trip through Sydney Heads back to HMAS Penguin.

According to cadet Petty Officer Joel Player from TS Shoalhaven & Cadet Leading Seaman Brooke Goldsbro from TS

Haweksbury, it was an ‘awesome’ time Joel said “It’s opportunities like these that make being a cadet just so much more enjoyable and worthwhile.”
