SBLT Dylan Cross is the Navy’s newest aviator after graduating from the 38-week RAAF Advanced Pilots Course at 2FTS RAAF Pearce.

Dylan, 22, says that his ambition to join the RAN and fly helicopters began early as a child when he would watch helicopters fly over the family home.

Following his graduation, Dylan will be posted to 723 SQN at HMAS Albatross to convert to the Squirrel helicopter. He said, “I am looking forward to flying around Australia and overseas in an operational environment, undertaking a variety of roles and tasks in the RAN. It will be fulfilling to apply what I have learnt and put it into practice in the real world of aviation.”
