Air
show a flying success
HMAS
Albatross (CAPT Timothy Barrett) successfully assisted with the
Nowra Air Show held lastmonth.
Hosted by Australias Museum of Flight, the air show included
a vintage car rally, model aeroplane demonstration and museum display.
CPO Linton Lee and his team from 723 SQN gave a handling demonstration
that saw the rotor blades of their Squirrel helicopter folded into
the stowage position.
A Sea King from HS 817 Squadron was also on display with a Navy
highlight being the dropping of a vehicle from an 816 Squadron Seahawk.
The air show had a range of performing arts including
Miss Fire - an American fighter trainer complete with jungle camouflage,
parachute drops, an aerobatic RussianMig 15, a Harvard and Yak 52
two-plane tail chase, and glider handling.
Also on display at the show was Eriks Express - a Navy DC3
Dakota.
The formation fly past was taken by the Roulettes, six PC-9A single
engine turboprop aircraft from the RAAF Central Flying School.
