Kuttubul clothing now online

HMAS Kuttabul’s Clothing Store, Serco Sodexho Defence Services (SSDS), and Corporate Services and Infrastructure — Sydney Central (CSI-SC) have jointly developed two key initiatives to further develop the Sydney Central (SC) Navy clothing store service.

“The on-line store will ensure the flexible and efficient delivery of customer service, as well as the ability to reach the Sydney Central Navy customer base at any given time,” said CAPT Michael Horne, Regional Manager of Corporate Services and Infrastructure, Sydney Central.

“Our customers will have the convenient opportunity to make purchases from their own workplace, whether they are at sea or on base,” said CAPT Horne.

The on-line Navy clothing store is now operational, and will be formally launched in the near future. The preferred method of payment is by the kit debit system, and cheques will also be accepted. Fleet Mail makes the deliveries. The on-line store can be viewed at the following address: http://dpsyd.ear.defence.gov.au/dcsc/ClothingStoreNavy

A mobile clothing van service, which began operating around the SC Naval bases in May 2002, provides customers with additional opportunities to make their kit purchases. The aim of the service is to assist those SC Navy members who find it difficult to get to the HMAS Kuttabul clothing store during opening times.

Trevor Aldred, OIC of the Kuttabul’s Clothing Store, is responsible for ensuring the van is stocked with the appropriate clothing and size ranges. Bulky items can be pre-ordered by e-mailing Kuttabul.clothing@defence.gov.au .
