October 30 was a training/familiarisation day for all participants, with Townsville Army, Townsville RAAF and FNQ Navy (HMAS CAIRNS/CBFU) competing.

Results were as follows:

Day 1: Oct 31 - Army defeated RAAF convincingly.

Day 2: Nov 1 - Navy defeated RAAF convincingly.

Day 3: Nov 2 - Navy defeated Army convincingly.

FNQ NAVY thus claimed the overall victory to retain the trophy for the second consecutive year, making them the champion service in the 2000 NQ Interservice Golf Competition.
