Hospital sets the standard

August 7, 2000

CAPT Loxton presents the
ISO accreditation certificate
to CAPT Green.
Being assessed then accredited by the prestigious International Standards Organisation is indeed a "feather in the cap."

The Balmoral Naval Hospital at Mosman in Sydney is now wearing such a feather.

The 36-bed hospital has been inspected and its procedures and staff watched and monitored leading to the accreditation.

The formal recognition of the assessment was made at the hospital when the Navy's Fleet Medical Officer, CAPT Mike Loxton, presented the certificate of accreditation to CAPT Bob Green, the medical officer in charge of hospital.

CAPT Green is also the tri-service medical officer for the eastern metropolitan area of Sydney.

The presentation was followed by morning tea.

The BNH is not the first Defence hospital to receive the ISO accreditation.

The Richmond RAAF Hospital received the standard earlier.
