Minister for Defence Visits HMAS Stirling

The Minister for Defence, Stephen Smith, MP, visits HMAS Stirling. During his visit he also toured HMAS Waller and HMAS Sirius.

HMAS Stirling is Australia’s largest Navy base and plays a critical role in protecting Australia’s maritime interests. Fleet Base West also provides significant benefits to Western Australia’s economy.The visit provided Mr Smith with the opportunity to be briefed on Navy’s role in the west and on the RAN’s activities across the globe.
