Farewell visit to Defence by Senator the Honourable John Faulkner
The Secretary Dr Ian Watt and the Chief of the Defence Force (CDF) ACM Angus Houston host an informal farewell visit to Defence by the outgoing Minister for Defence Senator the Honourable John Faulkner.
Senator Faulkner took up the position of Minister for Defence on 09 June 2009. During his time as Minister for Defence, Senator Faulkner established a close and effective working relationship with the Defence organisation. In his 15 months as Minister for Defence, Senator Faulkner dealt with a wide range of challenging issues with professionalism, steadiness and compassion. Senator Faulkner has advised that he would like to express in person his thanks to Defence members for the support the organisation provided to him during his tenure as our minister.
