Funeral Service of Private Grant Kirby
A Military Funeral Service for Private Grant Kirby was held on Friday 3 September 2010 in Brisbane at the St Peter Chanel Catholic Church.
Private Grant Kirby and Private Tomas Dale were killed in action by an Improvised Explosive Device while on duty with the Mentoring Task Force - One (MTF-1) in Afghanistan, on 20 August 2010.
Both soldiers were members of the Brisbane-based 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, serving in Afghanistan as part of Mentoring Task Force 1 (MTF-1).
