ADFA Open Day

One of the nation’s premier military institutions, the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) opened its doors to the public for its annual Open Day.
The ADFA Open Day is an opportunity for secondary school students who are interested in pursuing a career in the Navy, Army, or Air Force, and obtaining an undergraduate degree from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), to learn about life at ADFA.

Visitors were able to see many of the exciting activities that are undertaken by midshipmen and officer cadets, such as the above-pool obstacle course, outdoor battle physical training, abseiling, a mock section attack and military self defence displays. There was even a demonstration by ADFA’s own Formula Society of Automotive Engineer’s racing team.

There was also a range of military attractions which included Navy and Army helicopters, Military Working Dogs displays and an aerobatic performance by the Royal Australian Air Force Roulettes.
