Training takes Hercules to New Zealand

Routine training across Australia and New Zealand will continue to deliver fresh pilots and loadmasters for the C-130 Hercules.

In late September, a pair of C-130J Hercules conducted a training task with No. 285 Squadron, taking them to Tasmania, Queensland, and New Zealand.

Crews were exposed to operating the Hercules internationally, gaining experience in dealing with customs and immigration requirements, planning international air routes, and working with new airspace procedures.

New Zealand also presents unique training opportunities in its different operating environment, as well as a chance to co-operate with the New Zealand Defence Force.
