Restructure of Air Lift Group Units
From October 1, Air Force's C-130 Hercules workforce and squadrons will be consolidated under No. 84 Wing. The move will see No. 37 Squadron and its C-130 Hercules fleet move under the command No. 84 Wing, having previously been with No. 86 Wing, where it will operate alongside C-130 workforce training at No. 285 Squadron. This will allow greater efficiency in command and decision-making for one of the Australian Defence Force's busiest assets. Further changes over the next 18 months will see No. 33 Squadron become a part of No. 86 Wing, and Air Movements Training and Development Unit come under direct command of HQ Air Lift Group.
