Ex Hamel - Live Fire
Exercise Hamel, the Army's most complex training activity ever, ended with a bang recently with a live fire exercise conducted at Townsville Field Training Area.
Featuring a huge array of weapon capabilities, including the Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter, M1A1 Abrams tank, Javelin missile, mortars, medium and heavy artillery and numerous small arms weapons, the live fire display was the culmination of the six week exercise.
THe live fire display showcased the Army's warfighting skills and demonstrated their ability to combine complex war manoeuvres over a number of capabilities.
