New Memorandum Of Understanding between ADF and DAFF
The MOU between the Defence and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) through the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) has been in operation since 2005. Today's signing is a revision of the MOU.
The purpose of the MOU is to provide a clear mutual understanding between the Parties on the quarantine procedures and requirements for Defence Property and Personnel entering Australia from operations.
Since the MOU was first signed in 2005, the relationship between Defence and AQIS has come a long way not only at the strategic level in Canberra but also at the operational level in the regions, and in theatres of operation where AQIS inspectors deploy off-shore to conduct quarantine related inspections of Defence property prior to arrival in Australia.
