Wounded and injured Australian Defence Force personnel could soon be winning gold for Australia following enhancements to Defence rehabilitation services.
Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston today launched the Australian Defence Force Paralympics Sports Program (ADFPSP), signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Defence's Joint Health Command and the Australian Paralympics Committee (APC).
This MOU provides greater opportunities to wounded and injured ADF members and enables ADF personnel to draw on the expertise and knowledge of the APC staff.
ADF members will now have access to specialised physical fitness training, expert advice on equipment and prosthetics and access to Australian Paralympics committee programs.
