Australia will provide up to $1 million in initial emergency humanitarian assistance to help the people of Fiji recover from the devastation and destruction caused by Cyclone Tomas.
Over 18,000 people took shelter in 260 evacuation centres as homes, schools and buildings were destroyed in the savage weather.
The RAAF, in collaboration with AUSAID, is transporting pallets of tarpaulins, water purifying equipment and other important supplies onboard a No. 37 Squadron (37SQN) C-130H Hercules.
