Missing Patrolman found after 44 years
Lieutenant Hudson and Private Moncrieff were swept away in a river crossing during the Indonesian Confrontation on 21 March 1966. Their bodies were buried by Dayak locals and located after research and investigations by the Army's Unrecovered War Casualties team and current and ex-serving members of SAS with support from the Indonesian Armed Forces.

A Dayak local guides a boat through the river in the area where Lieutenant Kenneth Hudson and Private Robert Moncrieff were swept to their deaths in 1966. The river journey bypassing thick jungle, was part of the investigation done by Army History Unit, in finding the remains of the two men.

Lieutenant Kenneth "Rock" Hudson, SAS, who was killed when he was swept away in a river crossing in March 1966, during operations in the Indonesian Confrontation.
Lt Hudson's remains were found in October 2009, and will be brought home to Australia in April 2010.

Indonesian and Australian armed forces men dig for the remains of Lieutenant Kenneth Hudson and Private Robert Moncrieff. Facing the camera is the local Indonesian military commander Lieutenant Colonel Wasono and in the centre background is Warrant Officer Class 2 Jeremy Archer, the Australian Assistant Army Attaché from the Australian Embassy in Jakarta. They are helped by several local Dayak men including Jang Basri who witnessed the burial of Private Moncrieff in West Kalimantan in 1966. This site was the location of the burial of Private Moncrieff.
