Exercise Sea Lion
Exercise Sea Lion training activities were conducted at Cowley Beach Training Area and were focussed on the conduct of amphibious operations by the amphibious transport ship HMAS Manoora; the Heavy Landing Craft HMA Ships Balikpapan, Tarakan, Labuan, Wewak, Brunei and Betano; and Australian Army units from Sydney and Townsville including from the 3rd Brigade, 16 Aviation Brigade and 17th Combat Service Support Brigade. Exercises have also included the participation of HMNZS Canterbury.

Landing Craft Heavy (LCH) HMAS Balikpapan (L 126), HMAS Labuan (L128) HMAS Betano (L 133), and HMAS Tarakan (L129) were also involved in the training.
