The first RAAF F414-GE-400 F/A-18 Super Hornet engine testing in Australia

For the first time in Australia a RAAF F414-GE-400, F/A-18 Super Hornet engine is tested at RAAF Base Amberley.

An 'un-installed engine test cell’ was constructed at RAAF Base Amberley for the testing For the F414-GE-400 engine fitted to the F/A-18F Super Hornet. This activity was managed by Tasman Aviation Enterprises (QLD) Pty Ltd who sub-contracted the data acquisition upgrade to Yanos Aerospace Inc. This upgrade has enabled the RAAF to test Super Hornet engines here on Australian soil with a state of the art facility managed and constructed with maximum Australian Industry involvement
