2nd Commando Regiment Memorial Service

Commanding Officer of the 2nd Commando Regiment (2 Cdo Regt) has held a memorial service at Tobruk lines at Holsworthy Barracks to observe the deaths of their comrades, killed in Afghanistan last week.

Private Benjamin Chuck, Private Scott Palmer and Private Timothy Aplin were killed as a result of a helicopter crash that injured seven other commandos.

2Cdo Regt Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel C said the memorial service was a time for the Regiment to remember the men who paid the ultimate sacrifice during their service to this country.

The service was attended by the men and women of 2 Cdo Regt, families of the killed in action, representatives from other Special Operations Command units- Special Operations Headquarters, Incident Response Regiment and Special Operations Logistics Squadron- and the broader Australian Defence Force who worked with these men.
