HMAS Cerberus mourns the tragic loss of Rear Admiral Nigel Coates
Rear Admiral Nigel Coates passed away on 2nd June after a battle with cancer, he was 51.
In a signal to all Navy Personnel, Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Russ Crane said, "The Navy, ADF and the broader Australian Community had lost one of the finest military leaders.”With his passing, Navy has prematurely lost an outstanding individual and consummate professional"
The signal read "(RADM Coates) committed his entire working life to serving his country with great skill, dignity and honour"
Rear Admiral Coates is survived by his wife Vickie, and children Tim, Ben and Stephanie.
