Repatriation Ceremony for Private Nathan Bewes
A ramp ceremony to repatriate the body of the Australian Soldier killed in Afghanistan on the 9th of July was held on the 15th of July in Queensland at Royal Australian Air Force Base Amberley.
The body of Private Nathan Bewes, who was serving with the 1st Mentoring Task Force in Oruzgan Province, was taken from an RAAF C-17 by a bearer party made up of PTE Bewes’ colleagues from the 6th Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment, to be reunited with his family.
In addition to his family, the Ramp Ceremony was attended by Defence Minister Senator the Hon John Faulkner, the Chief of Defence Force Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston, and the Acting Chief of Army Major General Paul Symon AO.
