Memorial service held in the UAE for Private Nathan Bewes
A memorial service and ramp ceremony to farewell Private Nathan Bewes took place at Al Minhad Air Base in the United Arab Emirates.
Private Bewes was killed by an Improvised Explosive Device on July 9 while serving with 1st Mentoring Task Force in Uruzgan province, Southern Afghanistan.
Following the service, the Australian flag-draped casket of the fallen soldier was moved through an honour guard of Australian troops before being placed in an Australian C-130J Hercules to commence the final flight home to Australia.
