2010 Defence Experience Tour
Fifty Year 11 students and teachers have taken part in the,2010 Defence Experience Tour as part of the Defence Technical Scholarship program. The tour visited several Defence bases around South Eastern Australia from July 6 to 9, giving participants a better understanding of Defence training and lifestyle.
Students on the tour were selected from some 180 applicants of the 2010 Defence Technical Scholarship program. The aim of the program is to provide a financial incentive for year 11 and 12 students to remain in school and undertake subjects appropriate to ADF Technical Trade entry. Year 11 students receive $2000 whilst Year 12 receive $3000, paid over two semesters.
Another tour will be run later in the year to offer this experience to another 40 students and 10 teachers.
