The Minister for Defence, The Hon. Mr Stephen Smith visit the Headquarters Joint Operations Command (HQJOC)

The Minister for Defence, The Hon. Mr Stephen Smith took time out from his busy schedule to visit the Australian Defence Force’s State-of-the-art Headquarters Joint Operations Command (HQJOC) on the 30th of November.

Escorted by the Chief Of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Mark Evans, Mr Smith was given a first hand look at the entire facility which provides support and monitors joint operations and exercises 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Later in the morning, Mr Smith attended a morning tea with staff, taking the opportunity to talk to uniformed personnel and public servants who work at HQJOC.

At the end of his visit, Mr Smith was also presented with a Joint Operations Command plaque by Lieutenant General Evans in recognition of his visit.
