Ramp Ceremony held at Royal Australian Air Force Base Pearce, WA, for Trooper Jason Brown

Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) Trooper Jason Brown, who was Killed In Action in Afghanistan on 14 August, was repatriated in a sombre Ramp Ceremony at RAAF Base Pearce, Western Australia on 18 August.

SASR soldiers formed an honour guard and bearer party to escort Trooper Brown’s casket from the aircraft to his waiting family.

Minister for Defence, Senator John Faulkner; The Acting Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant General David Hurley; The Chief of Army, Lieutenant General Ken Gillespie and Special Operations Commander Australia, Major General Tim McGowan attended the Ramp Ceremony.

Trooper Brown was the 18th Australian Soldier to be killed during operations in Afghanistan.
