RAAF Base Wagga celebrates 70 years of Service and the reformation of No 31 Squadron

Personnel from RAAF Base Wagga exercised the right of Freedom of Entry to the City of Wagga Wagga on Saturday 31 July 2010. Parade Commander was Squadron Leader Nigel Webster, CO 31SQN, with WOFF Robert Dias as the squadron Warrant Officer. The Base WOD, WOFF Ken Robertson coordinated the freedom march. The Air Force has been a part of the Wagga Wagga community in the Riverina region since 1940. This event provided the local community an opportunity to observe and engage with the RAAF Wagga personnel as they exercised the right of Freedom of Entry to the city and to enjoy the subsequent displays and concert by the Air Force Band ‘Force 10’ in Bolton Park following the parade. Displays included military working dogs, the Air Force puppies, aviation technical training, logistic and admin support, recruit training plus an Army PT display.
