Artillery mentors from the First Mentoring Task Force - Train an Artillery Battery of Afghan Gunners
As Infantry and Engineer soldiers of the Afghan National Army patrol across the Oruzgan Province of Afghanistan, Artillery mentors from the First Mentoring Task Force are training an Artillery Battery of Afghan gunners equipped with the D-30 122mm Howziter at Multinational Base - Tarin Kowt.

HMAS Labuan recovers Dugongs
While enroute to Cooktown 23 April 2010, a crewmember of HMAS Labuan sighted three dead dugong caught in a net in the outer Cairns harbour shipping channel. The crew discovered another dugong and a small shovel nose shark still alive and both were immediately freed to increase their chance of survival.

HMAS Stuart Returns from the Middle East
Family and Friends gathered at Garden Island in Sydney to welcome home their loved ones on HMAS STUART who have been away for six months whilst delpoyed to the Middle Eastern Area of Operations.

*Sarbi spends ANZAC Day in Afghanistan
The Governor-General of Australia, Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC, yesterday paid a surprise visit to Australian Troops deployed to Tarin Kowt and Kandahar Airfield in Southern Afghanistan.

* A recent check of Sarbi’s regimental record, revealed that Sarbi’s name has been previously incorrectly spelt in Defence public reporting and the record is now corrected to show the spelling as Sarbi, not 'Sabi'.

ADF troops deployed to East Timor have attended the funeral of one of the last East Timorese veterans alongside hundreds of mourners in Dili.

Funeral Service for Lieutenant Kenneth Hudson
In 1965-66 the Australian Army was involved in border security operations during the period of Indonesia Confrontation that existed between the Federation of Malaysia and Indonesia. On 21 March 1966, two members of a SAS patrol were lost during one of these operations.
