Mascot Stan the Ram is enlisted into the Army
Private John 'Stan' McArthur VI, a merino sheep donated by Peter and Linda hacker of Roselea Merino Stud Muckadilla was enlisted into the Army on November 4th 2009.
The enlistment of 'Stan' follows a tradition that dates back to February 18th 1971 with the enlistment of the original Pte John McArthur into 9 RAR. This was the first time that the enlistment has taken place since the unit was removed from the Order of Battle in June 1997 after a major restructuring of Army.
