FA-18 Super Hornet
Twenty four (24) Block II F/A-18F Super Hornets are being acquired as Australia’s Bridging Air Combat Capability to de-risk the transition to a mature New Air Combat Capability. The Super Hornets will provide an upgraded air combat capability for air-to-air, air-to-ground and maritime strike missions that will allow Air Force to retire the F-111 aircraft at No 6 Squadron by end 2010.
