Chief of Defence Force Parade

The Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) invites family, friends and members of the community to join in welcoming 332 young men and women to the Australian Defence Force (ADF), at the annual Chief of Defence Force Parade.

The Chief of Defence Force Parade marks the completion of five weeks of intensive military training for these new midshipmen and officer cadets, who will march with the entire ADFA cadet body for the first time on Saturday.

They have learned about leadership, physical training, adventure training, drill and ceremonial skills, equity and diversity, military law, weapons handling and field craft. They are developing the professional abilities and the qualities of character and leadership appropriate to future officers and future leaders of the Navy, Army and Air Force.

Over the next three to four years they will continue to develop these skills while gaining an excellent university education through the University of New South Wales at the Australian Defence Force Academy. This training will equip these midshipmen and officer cadets to meet the many interesting and varied challenges of their military careers.
