The new LR5 James Fisher Submarine Rescue System
Commodore Stephen Davies, Commander Australian Navy Submarine Group, Commander Michael Manfield, Commanding Officer HMAS WALLER and sailors and officers from HMAS WALLER are given a tour of the facilities housing the new LR5 James Fisher Submarine Rescue System.
This system will be utilised in conjunction with the Collins Class Submarines for escape and rescue purposes throughout the fleet and replaces the REMORA Submarine Escape Submersible. This vessel will be at 12 hours notice to be deployed and will be used in exercise Black Carrillion this year.
