Open day at Royal Malaysian Air Force Base Butterworth
Royal Australian Air Force personnel and aircraft are in Malaysia to participate in Exercise Bersama Shield 2009.
The exercise aims to practice the interoperability of air, ground and naval forces under the auspices of the Five Power Defence Arrangements – involving Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, United Kingdom and New Zealand.
The open day gave members and their families the chance to take a closer look inside the Royal Australian Air Force's AP-3C Orion and also get up close and personal to the F/A-18 Hornet.

Members and their families were invited to an open day at Royal Malaysian Air Force Base Butterworth. They had a chance to view the F/A-18 Hornet and the AP-3C Orion aircraft which are visiting for Exercise Bersama Shield.
