Launch of Ocean Recon
“Ocean Recon”, has been launched by the Director General Defence Force Recruiting, CDRE Tim Barrett, and the Head of Navy People and Reputation, RADM Steven Gilmore. Featuring revolutionary technology, the online interactive program was developed to give users a real-time interactive experience of what life is like as a Navy Submariner. The product is intended to demystify submariner careers and provide potential candidates with an ‘experience’, leaving them with a lasting impression that goes beyond traditional media.
Following extensive research, Navy – with the support of Defence Force Recruiting – developed "Ocean Recon" using actual RAN blueprints. The aim is to grow awareness of what submariners do on a daily basis as well as providing a wealth of information on careers and the Navy lifestyle.
