Mr.Glenn Wahlert visits the Hunter Region
Director General Industry Strategy, Mr. Glenn Wahlert visits the Hunter region to launch new ME program and Advanced Manufacturing Program.
High school children in the Hunter will be given a chance to learn about Defence manufacturing following the launch of the Advanced Manufacturing Schools Pathways Program at the West Wallsend High School in NSW.
The ME program is a schools pathway program with the Australian Government to manage an Advanced Manufacturing Pathway Project. The program branded “ME Program”-“ME” representing Manufacturing and Education will ensure that students are made aware of the career opportunities in these industries. The project will provide direct pathways for years 9-12 students to industry.
The joint commitment between Forgacs and the Commonwealth to invest in this apprenticeship program allows Forgacs to grow their skills base and to provide long term employment for the young people of the hunter. Since its inception, the SADI Program has supported over 17,000 training opportunities.
