Graduation Parade No.1 2008 Armament Technician Course
The graduation of 1/08 Armament Technician Course on 27 August 2009 at RAAF Base Wagga marked a historic occasion for Air Force. 1/08 Armament Technician Course represents the beginning of a new era in aviation technician training in the RAAF. 1/08 ARMTECH Course is the first dedicated armament technician course to graduate since 1991 and the reformation of the mustering in 2008. These are the technicians who will manage the Air Force's technically advanced weapons. Their responsibilities will extend beyond the weapons to include the complex aircraft systems that ensure the full weapon capability can be realised.
The graduation celebrations included a ceremonial parade with a flypast by F-111 aircraft followed by a certificate presentation. Sharing the day with the graduates were family and friends. Acting Deputy Chief of Air Force, Air Commodore Gavin 'Leo' Davies CSC reviewed the parade. Many previous and current serving members of the Air Force armament community also joined in celebrating the occasion at RAAF Base Wagga.
