Amberley Community Engagement Forum

The close relationship between Air Force and the Ipswich community was further cemented at the official launch of the Amberley Community Engagement Forum.

The Amberley Community Engagement Forum is a joint Air Force and Ipswich City Council initiative in which local government and community representatives can share information and raise strategic issues associated with RAAF Base Amberley.

The Chief of Air Force, Air Marshal (AIRMSHL) Mark Binskin, who witnessed the signing of the Forum’s Terms of Reference, said Air Force is a proud part of the Ipswich region and a major economic driver.

“The Community Engagement Forum will be a key source of information for Defence and State and Local Government authorities when considering development, planning and environmental management activities,” AIRMSHL Binskin said.

Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale said the city had enjoyed nearly 70 years of association with RAAF Base Amberley and this grew stronger with each passing year.
"The base is a part of Ipswich’s identity and plays a very important role in our city," Cr Pisasale said.
