HMAS Success ship's charity launch
Founder of the 'Youth Off the Streets' (YOTS) Program, Father Chris Riley, visits HMAS Success to watch the children experience the Navy ship.
YOTS students visited Success for a tour of the ship after the program was adopted as the ship's charity.
The YOTS program involves young people from the ages of 13 to 17 offering a flexible curriculum with a focus on literacy and numeracy that responds to the specific needs, interests and talents of young people who have been disconnected from mainstream education.
With over 20 services, YOTS offers a full continuum of care through the provision of outreach services, crisis accommodation alcohol and drug services, counselling, accredited high schools, long term residential treatment programs and a semi-independent living and mentoring program. The program is assisted with many volunteers and paid professionals.20090326ran8113282_145 |
