Royal Australian Air Force puppies

While some 400 people, members of the community and service personnel, gathered in the RAAF Amberley Officers’ Mess to commemorate the Air Force’s 88th birthday, a birthday event of a different kind was quietly unfolding just up the road.

In a small delivery room at the Military Working Dog Breeding Cell, Military Working Dog Afra produced the perfect present for the Air Force.  Nine tiny puppies, destined for a life guarding Air Force’s valuable assets.

The puppies will be under the care of the team in the breeding cell until they are 3 months old, and will then join the Foster Care programme.

Under normal circumstances the puppies are given names starting with their litter letter, in this case D for Delta, however it’s believed that these very special birthday puppies may be named after former Chiefs of Air Force.
