HMAS ALBATROSS Air Spectacular

HMAS ALBATROSS celebrated its 60th year since the Fleet Air Arm was commissioned in August 1948. It was a historic moment for Australia, coming into line with the other great powers of the world providing the nucleus of its own Naval Air Arm.
The HMAS ALBATROSS Air Day Spectacular, on Sunday October 26, helped to celebrate the commissioning of the first Royal Australian Naval Air Station.
The Air Day Spectacular included helicopters of the Fleet Air Arm: Seahawks, Sea Kings, the Agusta 109 and 723 Squadron's Squirrels Pairs Display Team.

Some of the other attractions of the day included Australia's largest strategic airlift freighter the C17 Globemaster demonstrating why it is known as the master of the skies and the Royal Australian Air Force's elite formation aerobatic display team the Roulettes were the highlight of the day.
