The soldiers from Reconstruction Task Force 3 and Timor Leste Battle Group 3, mostly drawn from Townsville-based units, marched down The Strand.
Minister for Defence Joel Fitzgibbon and Chief of Army Lieutenant General Peter Leahy were among the dignitaries to formally welcome the troops home.
