Navy support of the Macquarie Fields Police LACACC initiative
21 May 2008
Royal Australian Navy support of the Macquarie Fields Police Local Area Command Aboriginal Consultative Committee (LACACC) initiative.
HMA Ships ALBATROSS, CRESWELL and SUCCESS played host to 15 Indigenous youth with tours of 723 Squadron Squirrel helicopter flight simulators within the Naval Air Station and the Navy's Fire Training Ground at Jervis Bay.
The group were then given the opportunity of a boat transfer to HMAS SUCCESS (Wednesday, 7 May 2008) and take part in an over night sea ride, arriving alongside Fleet Base East (Sydney) the following day.
The objective of the sea ride is to promote the RAN as a potential career path.
