Exercise reaches south
11 March 2008
Vehicles and equipment for 1st Brigade's Exercise Southern Reach at Cultana are loaded onto rail carts at the Berrimah Railyard near Darwin.
A newly-constructed crew van named after Major General J.D. Stevenson is being utilised for the first time this year, to accommodate soldiers escorting equipment carried on the railway.
Exercise Southern Reach is a unit-based training activity, which occurs twice a year at Cultana. 1st Brigade units use the South Australian training area during the Northern Territory's wet season, when Army ranges there are closed.
