Cellebration of Women in Defence Event

Past and current serving female Australian Defence Force Members, travelled from all over Australia to attend the “Celebration of Women in Defence” events held in Townsville over the weekend of the 31 May to the 01 Jun 2008.
Hundreds of women turned up to see how the women of today operate in today’s Defence Force, they chatted for hours, reminiscing and finally paying their respect to those women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
The women had a wonderful time together and once formalities were out of the way, enjoyed a light Sunday Brunch on a cool tropical afternoon in Far North Queensland.
Special guests were Major General Elizabeth Cosson and the Hon Peter Lindsay MP.
