Air Lift Group handover

On Friday 4 July 2008, Air Commodore (AIRCDRE) Brian 'Jack' Plenty, AM, handed command of Air Lift Group to AIRCDRE Ian Scott, AM. The position of Commander Air Lift Group is responsible for all of the Royal Australian Air Force's primary air lift assets.

AIRCDRE Plenty arrived as Commander ALG in February 2007, and will now be promoted to Air Vice-Marshal before taking a new position as Head of Capability Systems in Capability Development Group in Russell later in July.

AIRCDRE Ian Scott is a former Commanding Officer of No. 37 Squadron and Officer Commanding No. 84 Wing. He was previously Chief of Staff at Headquarters Air Command until transferring to the Reserves in 2005. AIRCDRE Scott will serve as Commander Air Lift Group for the remainder of this year.
